Parachute Bakery is hiring a Bakery & Cafe Manager Parachute Bakery is a new all-day bakery and café opening in San Francisco’s Ferry Building, from the team behind Michelin-starred Sorrel and the upcoming Arquet. Led by Executive Pastry Chef Nasir Armar, Parachute will feature a menu of seasonal, house-made pastries, breads, confections, and a curated selection of retail goods—alongside cold-pressed juices, rotating seasonal offerings, and an intentionally designed espresso bar dedicated to quality and precision. We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Bakery & Cafe Manager to oversee daily operations, lead a talented team, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. This is a rare opportunity to help shape and launch a brand-new concept from the ground up—working with an accomplished, creative team in one of the city’s most iconic locations. The Bakery & Cafe Manager, under the direction of our Director of Operations, will be responsible for: Hiring, training, scheduling, and mentoring front-of-house café staff Creating a warm, guest-focused environment while maintaining operational excellence Managing payroll, tip distribution, and cash handling in compliance with local and state regulations Monitoring P&L and sales reports, meeting budgeted sales and labor targets Overseeing café and retail inventories, ordering, and vendor relationships Maintaining high standards for coffee service and supporting the espresso program in collaboration with our coffee lead Coordinating with the bakery team to ensure smooth daily production and service flow Managing reservation and pre-order systems, guest communications, and occasional events What you can expect from us: A supportive, collaborative leadership team Clear expectations and high operational standards Full benefits program Bonus incentives Paid vacation A unique opportunity to help launch and grow a new bakery and café concept Required Experience: 1–3 years of café, bakery, or all-day concept management in a high-profile setting Strong coffee knowledge; barista experience Experience scheduling, hiring, and managing a team Proven ability to manage both hospitality and retail aspects of service We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to fostering a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
